Malala Yousafzai, the 16-year-old Pakistani education advocate who once was shot in the head by Taliban member for attending school last year, gives an amazing answer on The Daily Show about how she would respond to the man who tried to kill her.
The brave girl, who has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, talked about how to treat a member of the Taliban and strongly emphasized the importance of education in addressing terrorism. Her comments left anchor Jon Stewart speechless.
“If you hit a Talib, then there would be no difference between you and the Talib,” she said Tuesday. “You must not treat others with cruelty… You must fight others through peace and through dialogue and through education."
"I'll tell him how important education is, and that I even want education for your children as well. And I would tell him, that's what I want to tell you, now do what you want," she told the anchor, according to The Daily Show.
One clip of the video interview has been viewed 1,101,401 times in one day.
Yousafzai began her activist role in early 2009 in Pakistan's Swat Valley when she wrote a blog for BBC detailing life under Taliban rule and the Taliban's unwillingness to allow female education in the country.
The young activist also campaigned heavily for female education in Pakistan, and on Oct. 9, 2012, men from the Taliban shot her in the head and neck as she was riding the bus to school.
